Statement on the humanitarian situation in Gaza

Monday, June 2, 2025 – Gaza is currently experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis with its 2.3 million residents facing severe food insecurity, malnutrition, and critical health challenges. The situation has been exacerbated by restrictions on humanitarian assistance reaching the territory. Reports indicate significant casualties and a concerning depletion of essential supplies including food, medicine, and other necessities.

The international community would benefit from supporting a mutual cessation of hostilities, the safe return of all detained individuals, and the establishment of effective humanitarian corridors to ensure adequate aid reaches those in need throughout Gaza.

I once again urgently implore both parties involved in the conflict to find common ground for a ceasefire and peace negotiations, and to support my Global Peace 2030 initiative, which envisions lasting peace in the Middle East as an essential resolution to the ongoing conflict. There is no military solution to the conflict.
