Mr. KC’s statement regarding the violence in Syria emphasizes the need for a ceasefire and a peace process

Friday, 18 July 2025 – I am profoundly troubled by the ongoing increase in violence in the southern Syrian province of Suwayda, which has a Druze majority. This violence has reportedly resulted in the deaths of hundreds, including civilians, and has caused numerous injuries and displacements.

I call upon all parties to immediately enforce the recently agreed-upon ceasefire to safeguard civilians indiscriminately and to engage in a permanent peace process. Additionally, I urge an end to Israel’s escalating military actions within Syrian territory.

Once again, I advocate for an immediate reduction in violence and the implementation of urgent measures to restore tranquility and enable humanitarian access.

The people of Syria desire peace and development, free from violence and conflict. I am committed to promoting peace discussions in Syria as part of my Global Peace 2030 initiative.
