The Summit between Trump and Putin must conclude the war in Ukraine and establish enduring peace

Friday, 15 August 2025 The meeting in Alaska involving U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin should result in an agreement to terminate Moscow’s aggression in Ukraine.

Despite the participation of various parties in numerous peace talks, their attempts have yet to significantly contribute to ending the conflict in Ukraine or achieving a sustainable and lasting peace. Over 42,000 civilians have been injured or killed since the onset of Russia’s invasion, and 3.5 million Ukrainians have been compelled to flee their homes, while more than 2.5 million residences across Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed due to attacks.

The citizens of both countries desire peace, stability, prosperity, and an end to violence and conflict.

I consistently extend my offer for mediation towards lasting peace as part of my Global Peace 2030 initiative.
