Organización internacional enfocada en atender la salud de poblaciones víctimas de desastres naturales y conflictos bélicos.
Thursday, January 30, 2025 – Thirteen individuals have reportedly lost their lives in a recent confrontation between two guerrilla factions in northeastern Colombia, a region where violence has led to the displacement of nearly 50,000 individuals within a span of ten days.
The ongoing abuses perpetrated by armed groups, coupled with limited access to justice and elevated poverty levels—particularly among rural, Indigenous, and Afro-descendant populations—continue to pose significant human rights challenges in Colombia. Approximately 5.1 million individuals are currently experiencing internal displacement due to the ongoing conflict and violence in the country.
I have suggested that my mediator engage with all relevant parties in this peace dialogue, as I consistently advocate for the conflicting groups to seek reconciliation and embrace peace in accordance with the Global Peace 2030 agenda.
The citizens of the Republic of Colombia yearn for peace and development free from violence and conflict.
