President KC Calls for Immediate Ceasefire and Hostage Release Amid Escalating Gaza Crisis

Thursday, 21 August 2025— President Mr. Hum Bahadur Sappan KC today issued a powerful appeal for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the unconditional release of all hostages, as the humanitarian crisis in the region reaches catastrophic levels.

“I strongly urge Israel to halt its intensifying military operations in Gaza City,” President KC stated. “The assault threatens to unleash further death and destruction, compounding the suffering of civilians who have already endured unimaginable loss.”

According to recent reports, more than 62,000 civilians have been killed in Gaza, and the region faces a dire hunger emergency. The Israeli siege has left hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced, fleeing their homes in search of safety and sustenance.

President KC also called on Hamas to release all hostages without delay. “Families have lived through a nightmare for over a year. Children, spouses, siblings, and parents have waited anxiously, every day, for the return of their loved ones—or even the smallest sign of their fate. This agony must end.”

The President emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire to allow the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid and to avert mass starvation. “There is no military solution to this conflict. The only path forward is through dialogue, restraint, and a shared commitment to peace.”

President KC reiterated his call for both parties to support the Global Peace 2030 initiative, a visionary framework for lasting peace in the Middle East. “Let this be the moment we choose compassion over conflict, humanity over hostility. The world is watching. Let us rise to meet this moment.”
